University of Leeds Business Plan Competition - Third Prize Winner
March 1st, 2019 | 2 minute read

The University of Leeds Business Plan Competition is a highly competitive pitching competition between Leeds students. Organised by Spark, the business start-up service, the annual contest is open to students and graduates, with a prize fund of £8,000 sponsored by alumni. This year saw more than 100 entries across the two categories: Pre-Trading and Trading up to 24 months.

This was the toughest year by far to judge – the entries were truly exceptional. It was hard enough trying to whittle entries to a shortlist, and it took us two full days to decide on the winners

- Kairen Skelly, Spark’s Head of Business Start-Up

We are delighted to have been awarded 3rd prize in the pre-trading category for our concept and plans to develop and grow madeby.studio. The process from developing a business plan to a final pitch has been an enjoyable experience and helped us nail down our ideas to continue to grow madeby.studio as a creative business. It's always exciting seeing the incredible ideas young entrepreneurs submit every year as well as the generosity of Spark and their donors. We wish all the businesses that entered this year and in the future in growing their business ideas.
