About the Role

At madeby.studio, we’re involved in a variety of exciting projects, spanning websites, web applications, branding, and marketing campaigns. In this role, you’ll be responsible for building out key sections of these web projects, handling more complex development tasks with increasing autonomy, from page creation to functionality integration.

We count on our developers to deliver high-quality, consistent work that directly impacts project timelines, user experience, and client satisfaction. This is a great opportunity for a motivated developer looking to grow their independence, contribute meaningfully to creative digital solutions, and expand their technical and professional capabilities.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need to show evidence of your technical and creative skills through a well-rounded portfolio that includes both visual examples and code samples. Just as importantly, you should be able to clearly communicate the thinking behind your solutions. Imagine we’re your client. How would you present and justify your ideas?

A minimum of two years’ industry experience is recommended for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of specific sections of web projects with minimal supervision.

  • Build web pages and integrate key functionalities to meet project needs.

  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in line with project specifications.

  • Contribute to the technical performance and user experience of our web solutions.

  • Ensure your code aligns with the broader project goals and design vision.

  • Actively engage in team meetings, offering constructive feedback and suggesting new approaches.

  • Communicate progress clearly with both team members and clients.

  • Troubleshoot and debug code independently to maintain performance and stability.

Skills and Expertise

  • Strong front-end development skills, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks such as Statamic, Alpine, and React.

  • A clear understanding of component-driven/atomic development principles.

  • Solid understanding of back-end technologies like Laravel, MySQL, and server-side Inertia.

  • Experience working with APIs and basic database design and management.

  • Focus on writing clean, maintainable, and well-commented code.

  • Ability to optimise code for performance and scalability.

  • Proficient in debugging and resolving complex technical issues.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and suppliers with calm confidence.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams and with clients.
